The Patel Center supports distinguished research and educational programs that promote sustainable, healthy communities in a globalizing world. The Center brings together people from the academic, public, private, and non-governmental sectors to work collaboratively on finding solutions to pressing global problems; in particular: water, sanitation, sustainability, urbanization, and mitigation.
Conner was commissioned to develop a sustainable site strategy that would reflect the global initiatives of the center. The final design provided the establishment of indigenous native and highly drought tolerant plant materials, reducing the need for supplemental irrigation and decreasing the long-term maintenance demands on the university.
